Our History

WAC Consulting provides and supports accounting, manufacturing / warehousing and CRM software solutions, offers software customization services, and designs end-to-end solutions that fit each company individually. With its staff of eight, the Company offers more than 100 years of technical and business experience, with advanced degrees in business, finance, engineering and APICS/CPIM certification. And the staff also bring real-world experience in finance and accounting, manufacturing workflow processes, materials management, engineering data management and sales force automation to companies both large and small.

The award-winning company was founded in 1987 with a simple goal in mind -  to help other companies improve their profitability by streamlining business processes and operations. Originally, the company offered a variety of services including training, network infrastructure and custom solutions before settling on its current focus of supporting an integrated business solution.

In the late 1980's, WAC Consulting was already working with small to medium size businesses well before it was trendy, and now it has built a reputation of quality service for almost twenty years.

In 1994 the Company was recognized by Business Week, a national magazine, in an article about small business development and the effect of current trends in technology. In the magazine, Robert Distler, founder and principal, emphasized the need to understand the client's business before suggesting the solution of computerization.

"When small business people come in and want to automate, the first question I ask is: Why?" says Distler, president of WAC Consulting, Inc. which sells financial and manufacturing systems. As a first step, he suggests doing a needs analysis to determine what if anything, can be gained from putting in automation," according to the article that was published in November of 1994.

Through that exposure and a growing need for companies to leverage technology to stay competitive, WAC Consulting gained clients throughout New England and now provides services to companies as far away as Texas, North Carolina and California.

With the increasing integration of technology into the workplace, WAC Consulting sees the need for its highly trained staff to help small to medium size companies determine how to remain competitive by utilizing technology wisely. The Company can help the client identify needed changes along with development a plan to design and implement them. WAC's staff begins by creating a Needs Analysis that documents the current processes, learns how the business is run and where it sees itself in the future. With that knowledge in hand, the staff will develop a new technology plan and assist the client with its implementation.

With technology becoming increasingly complex, the staff is continually updating their skills in business analysis, software development, network infrastructure and security. The key to the company's success in the future is its perpetual growth and reputation for having the most highly qualified consultants on board.
