25 companies show you a better way to work

We told you last month about our ambitious plans to bring you a greater number of business technologies to help you maximize your operations. We have already scheduled 28 sessions for our 4th Annual Business and Technology Regatta 2006, and we're working on booking additional conference rooms in order to accommodate new, timely topics that will give you plenty of new ideas for your own company's operational efficiency.

Why should you plan a full day of conference sessions and product demonstrations? Because nowhere else can you get such an in-depth insight into easy-to-use, scalable and customizable software for accounting, customer relationship management, human resources, time tracking, and specialized needs of accounting practices of your company - within driving distance of your office. Bring a team with you to cover multiple sessions.

Registration is now officially open on our seminars web page, or simply respond to this email, we'll take care of the registration for you.

Still hesitant to commit? Let us share some recent results of a study that Sage Software conducted late last year, you may even have been one of the respondents to this survey! These results are for Northeast businesses:

"Business was on the upside for most companies in the northeast USA, according to the results of the 2005 Sage Software Business Minds Survey, with 63% of companies indicating revenues were up and 54% reporting increased profit. But flip the coin and you find the northeast USA also reporting the highest percentage of companies showing decreased revenue in the past year, with nearly a quarter in that position, and even more, 27%, reporting decreased profits, more than twice the North American average of 12%."

We hope that you are among the successful 54% that reported increased profits - but could you possibly do more? And if you found yourself last year among the 27% that experienced decreased profits, then leave no stone unturned to find out how to reverse that situation. Register now.

Spotlight on a successful, local business

If your company has successfully transformed its operations through timely business technology deployments, then we'd like to hear from you, in time for us to plan a spotlight during our 4th Annual Business and Technology Regatta 2006.  We are looking for success stories in all areas of operations, from order management, inventory management, manufacturing, scheduling,  i.e. core operations functions. Send us a quick email so that we can schedule an interview.

Mid-year Check-up

Are you enjoying a few slower days during the summer months? Then it could be the right time to perform mid-year check-up of your accounting systems, so that you can avoid burning the midnight oil at year end. With just 6 months worth of financial data so far, it's well worthwhile to check your financial status now. Here's what we suggest:

  • Review your financial reports to make sure they are accurate

  • Reconcile your cash balances

  • Reconcile your Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable and Inventory to your control accounts

  • Perform an analysis of your year-to-date income statement to last year, same time, to discover discrepancies

  • Set a game plan for the next six months, and check your financial data periodically, in order to minimize your year end headaches
